Have you received a per-qualified credit card offer from Capital One? If you're like me, your household has probably received more than one. In fact, today the same person received two offers from Capital One? All of the junk mail include one thing in common, they contain a return postage envelope.

In college I discovered a fun way to combat these business mailings with a pre-paid mailing, I simply stuff the envelope and mail it right back! The website Office Of Strategic Influence has a great page on mailing the envelopes back along with taping the envelopes onto something larger. I have never gone as far as mailing an actual brick or frying pan, nor do I recommend it, but the idea is fun.

With the Capital One offers I was always a little hesitant in mailing them back, as the back of the envelope contains a "Customer Locator Code" and a bar code, invoking the fear that they know exactly who is mailing the envelope back.

However, I can now safely say every envelope Capital One mails out contains the same customer locator code - 0016542323019. Both of the offers I received have this bar code, and another blog has also received spam mail from Capital One with the identical bar code. So rest assured, Capital One has no idea who is sending their Terms & Conditions for the credit card right back at them.

List of business reply tracking codes:
  • Capital One:  0016542323019

Magically Digital

Welcome to Magically Digital! I've restored an old and out-dated blog to be the basis of my new website/project, magicallydigital.com. I hope for this website to be all encompassing of my future web needs. Mainly it will have information on SEO/Web Content Management for potential clients along with a running blog where I can talk to these topics, but also a place I can store random bits of information that I encounter.

Moved to Celebration, FL!

After just moving into Celebration, FL and finding some helpful tips from other blogs, I decided to kick start my blog and see if I can't be of some help to future residents down the road. I do have to say, the beginning of December is the worst time to move, between work and family in town, I have zero time to start unpacking and getting settled. I am leasing my place here in Celebration, which is nice to not own, but has its own hassles as well. Here are my first impressions:

Lots. Of. Kids. I'm somewhat surprised at all the kids in the neighborhood, there are a lot! I don't mind, kids are fun to be around and even though I'm in my 20s, I'm not too loud or lead a crazy schedule. Everyone seems fairly quiet and nice from the few people I met. Everyone seems pretty private about Celebration, as I'm struggling to find good info for new residents, which is my main purpose of this blog. Hopefully I can help shed some light in time to moving into 34747.

We signed up for Comcast cable and internet at $69.99 for 6 months, we'll see how it goes and after the 6 months re-evaluate. It really is too much of a hassle to go through and get other stuff while just moving in, plus for 6 months that price point can't be beat. The install guy was pretty cool too. Time to continue unpacking...
